Discovery Night & Shadowing Information

Important information for any current 8th grade student interested in the IB program at Palm Harbor University High School:

The shadowing tour opportunity provides 8th grade students the chance to learn about the International Baccalaureate program and by observing classrooms within the programme, along with other possible elective offerings and facilities on campus, with a current IB student at Palm Harbor University High School. Last year we had great interest in the Palm Harbor University High School IB shadowing experience.  So much so that we were unable to accommodate all requests.  This year, we have opened up two months, October and November. Shadow applications will begin to be reviewed in September. Shadowing experiences are scheduled on a first come/first served basis with limited timeslots.  Due to the high number of interested students, we cannot guarantee an appointment for every student.  Please do NOT duplicate your registration form entry. If you have any questions, please email our IB Secretary. The following is important information about our shadowing tour program:

  • Shadowing tours are only available to 8th grade students.
    • To be eligible to tour, a student must have completed or be enrolled in Algebra 1 Honors.
    • All shadows must live in the zone for the following high schools:  Countryside, Dunedin, East Lake, Palm Harbor, or Tarpon Springs. 
    • We will schedule shadows tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning October 7, 2025.
    • Tours will be offered from 7:15-9:05 or from 10:00-11:20
    • Students will tour the school and IB program classes with a student in the IB programme. We cannot honor requests for grade level or friends.
    • If you miss your scheduled tour date, your name will go to the end of the list of shadow requests.  On your application, please note any dates you will be out of school or on a school field trip.  If we have these on your application, we will work around them.
  • Please adhere to the Pinellas County dress code.
