Admissions Criteria

• The Center for Medical Wellness Professions at Palm Harbor University High School offers a challenging academic environment where students can excel in honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in subjects such as math, science, social studies, and language arts. In addition to core subjects, students also have the opportunity to explore electives in technology, world languages, and other academic areas at the honors and AP level.

• Once enrolled, students are expected to attend classes regularly, maintain an unweighted semester GPA of at 2.0 in 9th grade, 2.3 in 10th grade, and 2.5 in 11th and 12th grades, and adhere to the Code of Student Conduct.  For more details, please refer to the District Application Program Procedures on the Pinellas County Schools website.

• HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America): Participate in an active organization offering competitions, community service, and leadership opportunities.
• Field Trips: Visit medical facilities, including hospitals and the University of South Florida's medical school.
• Extracurricular Activities: Enjoy a wide range of extracurricular options available at the high school.
• Special Events: Celebrate milestones with events like the Junior Pinning Ceremony and Senior Celebration.
• Advanced Academics: Access Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, and Honors courses.
• Expert Faculty: Learn from medically trained instructors with extensive industry experience.
• Integrated Curriculum: Benefit from a curriculum infused with medical information across various subjects.
• Community Partnerships: Engage with local medical and business communities through partnerships.
• Clinical Experiences: Gain hands-on experience in hospitals, rehab centers, private practices, and more.

• North of Highway 60: Students apply to the Center for Wellness at Palm Harbor University High School.
• South of Ulmerton Road: Students apply to the Center for Wellness at Boca Ciega High School.
• Between Highway 60 and Ulmerton Road: Students may apply to either Center, but not both.
• Transportation
• Arterial bus transportation is available for students living more than two miles from the school. Magnet bus stops may require parents to drive their children to and from the stop.
