  • The 516 Gears of Fire team from Palm Harbor University High School is competing in the FIRST World Championship in Houston. FIRST® is a global nonprofit organization that prepares young people for the future through youth robotics programs that build skills, confidence, and resilience. • Thespian Troupe is among the highest honored programs in Dramatic and Musical Theater by the State, Broadway Stars of the Future and Walker’s Rising Stars.
• Consistent national qualifiers in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Health Occupation Sciences Association (HOSA), and Speech and Debate
• Students consistently recognized as Gold and Silver Key Scholastic Art Award Winners
• 10-time recipient of the Superintendent’s Award for highest GPA for all student-athletes; 6-time recipient of Superintendent’s Cup for Athletic Achievement
• 15 Team athletic Florida State Titles and 20 individual State Titles since the opening of the school
• 25,000 volunteer hours annually from over 1,000 volunteers

• For the third straight year, students from PHUHS produced a series of TEDx talks with community members based on the premise of inviting people with ideas that can change the world. Some of those speakers included PHUHS students and local scientists with a specialty on technology. TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events.
